Attaching a file to a Bib record
Attaching a file to a Bibliographic record in Koha
This facility is only to be used if there are a limited number of small files to be stored.
If the number of files is small and the file sizes are also small so that the total disk usage will not be more than 500MB you can store the records on the Koha server.
If the filesizes are large (more than 20Mb each) or you have a large number of files to be attached (more than 100 files) you should not place them on your Koha server, but store them on a different server consider another storage area. (The server you select to hold the files needs to be a publicly accessible website.)
If you need to store the files on a separate server, contact the support team to discuss this.
If you are storing the records on Koha (subject to the limits above), open a ticket with Interleaf to create the upload folder and add it to the koha-conf.xml file.
Follow the instructions in this video to add the upload.pl to the relevant bibliographic frameworks.
If you have any uncertainty about how to do this step, log a ticket and Support will do this for you.
List all the frameworks that you want changed in the ticket.
The video will also show you how to upload files and test in the staff interface and the OPAC
You will need to keep copies of the files uploaded as they will not be backed up as part of the daily Koha backup.
