To Begin, select actions and in the drop down choose “Recurring reservations”
The “Maintain Recurring Reservations” box should appear. This will list your current recurring reservations. Click “New” in the top right to add a new recurring reservation.
This will bring up the “Reserve a PC Area” box. The main options to fill in here are
Library Card Number
This is the “username” that the public users will enter when trying to login to a public PC during this class. (This can be anything of your choosing, without spaces)
PIN
This is the PIN that will match the above “Library Card Number”. (This can be anything of your choosing, without spaces)
Repeats
This is when the recurring reservation will happen. In the below example I’ve chosen 3:00pm every Tuesday.
“Reserve all PCs”
Here you can tick a box to choose all PCs OR choose the Area below to block book a specific area.
Length
This is the length of the booking, I’ve chosen 115 minutes here as this will allow a new session to begin for the public at 5pm after the class is finished.
Ignore Grace Period
This allows the class to start late, or perhaps a teacher will explain a few things for 10-15 minutes (while the users are not using the PCs at the start of the session) but PC Reservation won’t treat the sessions as though the users just didn’t show up.
Disable Inactivity Timeout.
This is similar to the previous setting, but this is to disable the inactivity timeout so that during a class if they’re looking away from their screens (teacher explaining something) that their sessions don’t just end.
When you click OK on the previous box, the box below will appear.
Weeks OR Each week until
This is how many weeks or until a certain date the class will run for. If this is a set number that is small enough you can choose 1,2,3, weeks etc. If this class runs for many many weeks or indefinitely, then the best option to choose is
Weeks = 1
Then in the next option we can make it recur indefinitely.
If you choose “Yes” on this option, the reservation above will be a recurring one. Meaning it will just continue to happen every week until cancelled.
If you chose “Yes” on the last option, you will be asked to give the Recurring Reservation a name. This name is just for your own sake to you can remember what it is. I would usually recommend in the above Tuesday 3pm Computer class that you label is something like “Computer_Class_Tuesday_3PM”. This is just to help you if you build up a few recurring reservation and eventually have to remove one of them.
