How to add an avatar to comments on the OPAC Libravatar

How to add an avatar to comments on the OPAC Libravatar

This document will outline how to display the Libravatar avatar of a patron next to comments they have made on the OPAC.

Please note, Interleaf Technology is not associated with Libravatar and we do not advocate for the use of the site. This document is not a set of instructions for how to use or enable the Libravatar function.

It is not possible to apply avatars from other sources.

Step 1 - Enable the functionality

Go to Koha administration > Global System Preferences and search for ShowReviewerPhoto.

A system preference of the same name will appear.

To display the avatar set this system preference to Show reviewer's avatar beside comments in OPAC and click Save all OPAC preferences.

How the avatar will display on the OPAC

For details on how to access comments on the OPAC, please check our Help Centre.

On the comments page, the avatar from Libravatar will display beside the comment.

If a patron does not have an avatar on the Libravatar site, then the display will be the default display.

The avatar will also appear in the Comments tag on the specific bibliographic record.
