Who can view baskets in the Acquisitions module?

This document outlines how to define which staff members can view a basket assigned to a vendor.

Set system preference

Go to Koha administration > Global System preferences and search for AcqViewBaskets.

This will bring up a system preference of the same name.

This system preference has three options:

In system, regardless of owner

This option will allow patrons who is able to access the Acquisitions module to be able to view all baskets on the vendor accounts.

from staff member's library

This option will allow patrons able to access the Acquisitions module to be able to view baskets created by patrons within the same branch as their own. Patrons will not be able to view baskets created by patrons in branches different than their own.

created or managed by staff member

This is the default setting for the system preference. This option allows patron who are able to access the Acquisitions module to view only baskets they themselves have created. Patrons will not be able to view baskets that other patrons, in any branch, have created.

Regardless of how this system preference is set it will still be possible for patrons to see the number of baskets assigned to vendors, but they will not be able to see details of the basket.

Patrons with the patron permission: Manage all baskets and order lines, regardless of restrictions on them (order_manage_all)  or set as a superlibrarian will be able to view all baskets on the system, regardless of how this system preference is set.
For more details on patron permissions, please check our Help Centre.

Trying to view restricted baskets

If a patron who is unable to view the details of a basket clicks to view a basket, they will be shown a message informing them they are not authorised to view the basket details.
