When a standard search is completed on the staff side, results from all branches will be returned. It is possible to include the option to narrow down search results to items that are available in the branch the staff member is logged into.

Go to Koha administration > System preferences and search for FilterSearchResultsByLoggedInBranch. 

This will bring up a system preference of the same name. 

Set this system preference to Do add a filter to the location column on staff interface search results to filter items by the logged in user branch. Click Save all Staff interface preferences.

Complete a standard search on the staff interface.

The initial search results will show items from all branches but there will be a button over the Location column labelled Show local items only. 

Clicking this button will reduce the results to only items from the branch the staff member is logged into.
