How to add custom frequency entry for the Housebound module
This document will outline how create a custom frequency for how often materials for housebound patrons should be sent out.
Navigate to the authorised value
Go to Koha administration > Basic parameters > Authorized values.
This will open a new page where the entries for authorised values will appear in a table.
Use the search box at the top of the table to find HSBND_FREQ.
Click HSBND_FREQ under the Category column.
This will open a new page where the authorised value for HSBND_FREQ will appear.
Click +New authorized values for HSBND_FREQ.
This will open a new page with a form where the details of the new frequency entry can be added.
Authorised value
This is a unique code to represent the authorised value and the format should be similar to the codes already defined in the table. For example, if the frequency codes already defined take the format of EW, for Every Week, then the other values should generally be two figures for the start of the word.
Description
This is the name of the value as it will appear for staff members.
Description(OPAC)
This is the name of the value as it would appear on the OPAC, however, this information does not appear on the OPAC so this field can be left blank.
Library limitation
This allows the frequency to be restricted to one or more branches. If this is left on All libraries there will be no limitation on the code and will be available to be applied by all branches.
Choose an icon
This allows an image to be associated with the frequency,
Once the form has been filled out click Save.
The newly created frequency will appear in the HSBND_FREQ table.
On the patron account
Once the new options has been added to the authorised value, it will also appear in the dropdown on the Housebound module on the patron account.
