Enable renewals on the OPAC
It is possible to allow patrons to renew their own items from their accounts on the OPAC. This can be done instead of or in tandem with staff renewals.
Step 1 - Enable the functionality
Go to KOHA administration > Global System Preferences and search for OpacRenewalAllowed.
A system preference of the same name will appear and should be set as Allow patrons to renew their own books on the OPAC.
Step 2 - Renewing on the OPAC
When patrons sign into the OPAC they can view their checked out items in the your summary tab of their account.
There will be a Renew column with details of the renewals available on the different items.
To renew one or a selection of items click the small tick box in the Renew column and then click the Renew selected.
To renew all items, tick the Renew all button.
