How to require a tag to be checked before it displays on the OPAC

Tags are applied to bibliographic records by patrons through the OPAC, to add a review or a description of the title. By default, tags added with this feature will automatically appear on the OPAC as soon as they are submitted. However, it is possible to require tags to be accepted by library staff before they start to display on the OPAC record. This document will outline how to enable this moderation feature.
For more information on how to enable tags, please check our Help Centre.

Set the system preference

To set up tag moderation, go to Koha administration > Global System Preferences and search for TagsModeration.

This will bring up a system preference of the same name.

Set this system preference to Require that tags submitted by patrons be reviewed by a staff member before being shown and click Save all Enhanced content preferences.

Adding a tag on the OPAC

Use the Add tags link on the OPAC to submit a tag.
Please check our Help Centre for full instructions on how to add a tag on the OPAC.

The newly added tag will not automatically appear in the tag list on the record.

Tags on the staff side

On the staff side, any submitted tags will appear on the bottom of the homepage.

Also, under Tools > Patrons and circulation > Tags.

This will bring up a page where tags can be viewed in a table.
