A Koha site may be made up of one or multiple libraries and this document will outline how to identify the unique code that represents the different branches on a system.
Step 1 - Navigate to the Libraries table
Navigate to Koha administration > Basic parameters > Libraries.
This will bring you to a new page with a table of branches on your site.
The second column in the table is Code, which will contain the codes for the library branches.
What if the Code column does not display in the Libraries table?
Go to the top of the table and look for Columns on the upper right hand side of the table.
Click on this function and a dropdown menu will appear with different options for columns that can be hidden or displayed on the Libraries table. The Code option will appear with a red cross to the left hand side.
Click the Code option and a green tick will appear to the left hand side and the Code column will appear in the Libraries table.
Click anywhere off the dropdown menu to be returned to Koha functioning as usual.
If the Code option does not appear in the dropdown menu, it may be marked as untoggleable in the Table setting area
To get the Code option to appear in the dropdown menu, navigate to Koha administration > Additional parameters > Table settings. This will bring you to a new page with a table of collapsed options titled Table settings.
Click on the Administration option.
This will cause the line to drop out into a selection of tables which can be used to edit the control of columns appearing in various places on Koha.
Go to the table titled Table id: libraries.
Ensure there are no ticks in the two columns beside the library_code field. If there are ticks in these fields, click into them and they will disappear.
Hit Save.
When the Is hidden by default and the Cannot be toggled options are blank, the Code column will always appear by default on the Libraries table.
