How to record the staff member who completed a checkout

It is possible to set Koha to record the details of the staff member who checked an item out to the patron so it can be viewed on the staff side. Please note this functionality requires the system preference intranetreadinghistory to be enabled.

Step 1 - Navigate to system preference

Go to Koha administration > Global System Preferences and search for RecordStaffUserOnCheckout

This will bring up a system preference of the same name.

Ensure this is set to When checking out an item, record the user who checked out the item

If any changes are made to the system preference click the Save all Circulation preferences button.

Where to view the issuer details on the patron record

Check out an item to a patron.

To view the information of the staff member who checked the item out, go to the blue Circulation history tab on the left hand side.

This will take you into a new page with a table of current and historic circulation information for the patron. The table should be sorted by the most recent transaction and there should be staff details in the Checked out by column.
The details in the Checked out by column will link to the patron account which completed the checkout.

In this example, previous checkouts do not have the issuer information recorded as they occurred before the RecordStaffUserOnCheckout was set to record.
