If an item is attached to the incorrect bibliographic record it is possible to move it from one to another without needing to delete the original item record created.
This can be accomplished through a catalogue search or a report depending on the situation.
Once the item record to be moved has been identified make a note of the barcode.
Navigate to the bibliographic record to which the item is to be moved.
Click Edit at the top of the record which will create a dropdown menu.
Select Attach Item from the dropdown.
This will bring you to a new page with a box with the dialogue Enter the barcode of the item to attach:
Input the barcode of the item to be moved to the selected bibliographic record into the box and hit Submit.
The item you selected will be moved to the target record.
There will be an option to continue adding items to the record or to return to the bibliographic record the item has been added to.
There will also be the option to delete the bibliographic record that the transferred item was originally on if no item records remain after the modification.
If the bibliographic record is deleted, a confirmation message will appear and the options to continue adding items to the remaining record or return to the bibliographic record will still be present.
The item will be removed from the original bibliographic record and will appear on the selected bibliographic record.
The item type, current location, home library, call number, status, date last seen, barcode, copynumber, inventory, notes and circulation history for the item(s) will be brought over to the new bibliographic record.
