Receiving an Order for a newer Edition

How to Receive an Order for a newer Edition

This document explains how to receive an order when the vendor supplies a newer edition of the book.

The original order was placed for the 2nd Edition of Gray’s Anatomy for Students.

The supplier advises you that they have a later edition, the 3rd Edition, which they supply.  Just receive the invoice in the normal way and make a note of the barcode.

Then you should go and create a new biblio for the new edition, either by searching an external source or copy cataloguing or cataloguing from scratch.

Now you simply need to move the newly received item to the new biblio, so click on the Edit button and select Attach Item

You will be asked to scan the item barcode or you can simply type it in:

Then when you click submit you get a confirmation message :

Once this is acknowledged the new item and the associated Acquisitions details have been transferred to the biblio for the new edition (3rd edition) :

If there are no items attached to the biblio for the old edition you can delete the biblio, otherwise it stays in place for all your 2nd edition items :
