How to limit the OPAC self checkout module to specific patron categories
This document will outline how to limit access to the OPAC self checkout module to a list of defined patron categories. It is not currently possible to define access to the self checkout module on a individual patron basis, but groups of patrons can be provided access.
Navigate to the system preferences
Go to Koha administration > System Preferences and search for SCOBatchCheckoutsValidCategories.
This will bring up a system preference of the same name.
This system preference includes a dropdown menu of all the patron categories defined on the specific system. This list will vary from system to system.

How to enable the self check module for all patrons
Click the small box beside [Select all]. This will add a white tick to a blue background to all the patron categories in the list.
Click Save all Circulation preferences.
How to enabled the self checkout module for only some patrons
Click the small boxes beside the patron categories that should be able to use the self checkout module. Make sure there is a white tick on a blue background for all patron categories that should be able to access the self checkout module.
Click Save all Circulation preferences.
