How to show the name of the patron with the checkout on the OPAC
This document will outline how to set the site to display the name of the patron an item is checked out to on the OPAC. This will mean that anyone searching the OPAC, logged in or not, will be able to see the patron who has a particular item checked out. Enabling this option is at the discretion of library staff, but be aware this may violate GDPR standards.
How to enable the functionality
Go to Koha administration > Global System Preferences and search for OPACShowCheckoutName.
A system preference of the same name will appear.
Set this to Show the name of the patron that has an item checked out on item detail page on the OPAC and click Save all OPAC preferences.
Appearance on the OPAC
With this option enabled, under the Status column in the item record on the OPAC the name and username of the patron the item is checked out to will display.
If the
Status column is not displaying on the item record, it is possible the field has been hidden from the table. For more information about this option, please check out
Help Centre or contact
Interleaf Technology directly.
