How to set the overdue report to run automatically or manually

This document will outline the options for setting the overdue report to run either automatically when it is clicked or to run only after the filters have been manually set.
Go to Koha administration > System Preferences and search for FilterBeforeOverdueReport.

This will bring up a system preference of the same name. This system preference controls whether the overdue report will run automatically or manually.

Setting the overdue report to run automatically

Set the FilterBeforeOverdueReport system preference to Don't require staff to choose which checkouts to show before running the overdues report. Click Save all Circulation preferences.

Example of the overdue report running automatically

Warning
Be aware that if there is a high volume of overdues on your site the report may be resource intensive and can slow the system. If the Koha site is large or overdues have not been addressed in a significant amount of time, then it would be better to filter the reports initially.
Go to Circulation > Overdues > Overdues.

This will cause the overdue report to run automatically and show all overdues that currently exist on the site.

Setting the overdue report to run manually

Set the FilterBeforeOverdueReport system preference to Require staff to choose which checkouts to show before running the overdues report. Click Save all Circulation preferences.

Example of the overdue report being run manually

Go to Circulation > Overdues > Overdues.

This will open a new page where the filters for the overdue report can be set. The page will be blank apart from a filter column to the left hand side.

Notes
For more details about filtering the report to run it, please check our Help Centre or contact Interleaf Technology directly.
