Tracking login attempts

Tracking login attempts

Tracking login attempts

A new feature introduced on Release 20.05 allows you to track login attempts. This enhancement adds two new logging preferences `AuthFailureLog` and `AuthSuccessLog` in order to keep track of bad login attempts and successful ones.

NOTE: In some countries, this may be a requirement as a local application of GDPR legislation.

Follow these instructions if you would like to implement this feature.

1.  Go to Administration and search for SysPref AuthFailureLog

2.  Set to "Log" authentication failures

3.  Search for SysPref AuthSuccessLog

4.  Set to "Log" successful authentications, then Save

5.  To view the log, go to Tools, Log Viewer

6.  Beside Modules untick "All" and tick "Authentication" then click Submit

The system will display the details of successful and failed logins.
